April 12, 2008

ANAKA has replaced BLOODSIMPLE on WSOU's 60th Anniversary show at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ on April 18. The concert will include additional performances from SHADOWS FALL, UNEARTH, OTEP, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH and A LIFE ONCE LOST.

Based out of Brooklyn, NY, ANAKA has built a rapidly growing fan base and reputation not only here in the U.S. but also overseas. The band has played numerous showcases for several record labels, including Atlantic, Columbia and Hollywood, and also performed at such notable venues in Irving Plaza, Knitting Factory, Warsaw, Count Basie Theatre and the legendary CBGB.

ANAKA released the music video of the title track from its last record, "Rust & Jade", in September. The clip, which can be seen below, was directed by Kevin J. Custer, who has previously worked with OVERKILL, ALL THAT REMAINS, UNEARTH, MADBALL and KINGDOM OF SORROW.

"Rust & Jade" can be seen nationally at Music Choice's Video On-Demand Rock channel under the "Rock" section and "Metal" category! The video's available for viewing 24/7 until April 27. "Rust & Jade" is also in regular rotation on MTV Latino, covering Southern portions of the United States, and all South American and Central American countries.

ANAKA is nearing completion of its as-yet-untitled new album with producer Jerry Farley, who has previously worked with LAMB OF GOD, BREAKING BENJAMIN, ILL NINO, CANDIRIA, 40 BELOW SUMMER and GOATWHORE. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Chained Intentions", "The Sickness", "Erase", "The Eternal Moment" and "The Glorified Crusade".
